New ASUS build won't POST!!! First Build Pls help!!! - Page 4

I had a similar problem with my ASRock and Asus motherboards. The problem ended out being the USB 3.0 header, once I removed the connector connecting to the USB 3.0 header it started posting and I was able to enter BIOS without a hitch.

This link that someone else posted on LinusTechTips forum helped me resolve the error.

I don't know what tips I can give on tuning or tweaking because personally, I just work on making it faster where I think it's too slow.

Anyway, the reason it started out at DDR3-1333 may be due to the board not natively supporting anything higher than that thereby making it necessary to manually set faster memory to its stock speed.

I just switched out the MOBO and CPU. Weird thing is that when I connected the USB 3.0 connection it went in better and clicked in this time.

Haa, yeah that's the pimp right there. BTW I got the system up, running and all set up. I've OC'd it up to 4.3 so far. Still watching vids to see how to properly do it myself. Right now I'm using Bios pre-configured "Optimal Speed" settings. I will just set it there and leave it as I dont want to mess anything up. I like the HUD style BIOS Asus has gone with. I have dubbed her "The Kraken". I know it could be better, but she is a beast to me.

That's not really a BIOS. Ever since the Sandy Bridge platform (so ever since the days of the P67 chipset), we've had the UEFI, which stands for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface. In other words, it's the new BIOS.
