Nothing wrong with max settings but I'd rather see max settings with AA levels that the normal person will run rather than the same settings with AA levels that will kill all cards.
Especially on 1440p resolution... at which for me, 2xMSAA versus none is hard for me to tell personally, so i leave AA off on 1440p. Although 1080p is a different story, AA is needed at that res.
But yes, they have to do benchmarks without AA or at least FXAA as minimum but with everything else maxed out. AA is, for me, the one "luxury" setting whereas other stuff like textures and shadows takes higher priority. I could not give a damn about higher AA if the texture looks like smeared mud to begin with.
as for the consoles, the Xbox One allocates 5 GB out of its 8 GB for games, taking 3 GB for its OSes. the PS4 allocates 7GB out of 8GB, but still, that 7GB has to be partitioned into CPU or GPU ram, depending on the game.
And at this point, 3 GB is minimum VRAM for the near future for our PC GPUs, 2 GB won't be cutting it soon anymore.Edited by ChronoBodi - 6/25/13 at 1:39am
