Eyefinity locked in low resolution when bezel compensating

Hi guys

I've been having a problem with my eyefinity setup starting yesterday, where when i try to apply bezel compensation in CCC, the resolution goes from the normal 5760x1080 to 2400x600, and is then locked at that resolution so i can't adjust it any higher. I then have to disable eyefinity, restart my displayport monitor and put all three monitors in extended mode at 1080p before i can activate eyefinity again without being locked into the low res. When trying to apply bezel compensation i get the following message:

"DisplayPort Link Failure. The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort display. Your display might not support the requested resolution or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer."

My specs are an XFX 7970, Dell E/P2310h monitors where the P2310h is running native DP with a passive miniDP to DP adapter and then a standard DP cable from the adapter to the monitor.

Any ideas?

Hi, Noca. I talked to our Eyefinity engineer about your post, and this is what he responded with:
Quote:
If the user is running a cable that has not been certified by the VESA group for DisplayPort (there are lots of cruddy, grey market cables out there), then it's possible that the extra pixels of bezel compensation are exceeding the cable's spec and causing a link training failure.

Do you have another cable you could try?

Sadly, no, but both the cable and adapter are VESA certified. I have used the DP cable for over 2 years to run bezel compensated eyefinity, and the adapter for almost 1 1/2 years (since i got my 7970 at launch), both running flawlessly. Unless the cables somehow degraded, i can't imagine it's them.

Thanks for the effort though, it's nice that you guys keep tabs on what goes on in the forums redface.gif
