Modded 6950 problem

Hi There

I am having problem with my 6950 (asus direct CUII) i have modded it to 6970 on my old rig (phenom x4, gigabyte Ga-MA790XT-Ud4P) everything worked like a charm then i have upgraded mobo and cpu, to sabertooth 990FXrev 2.0 and AMD FX-8350 plugged it all in and got no picture, everything was booting up fine but i had red led on the graphic(on board) indicating graphic problem, flicked the switch back to old bios(on the card) pc booted up fine, flicked it back to 6970 bios, restarted, no picture again...i have flashed the bios back to original and pc booted up fine, downloaded latest drivers from AMD.com and it seemed to be ok but at first windows experience test scored my graphic at 1! and it sued to be 7.9 i rebooted it and it was 7.7 but my card is acting weirid now, when i put any load on it ie test, game etc fans start spinning like crazy going really fast for a half a second then really quiet for another half a second and its just up and down, eventually goes really loud for abit longer then back to quiet etc...

did anyone have this issue before? is modded 6950 not compatible with sabertooth 990fx?

Modded? Do you mean unlocked, using a modded BIOS? Having an unlocked 6950 is no guarantee, but it seems like you had it working perfectly prior to installing a new motherboard. I suggest doing a fresh install of your OS, update the BIOS and other drivers, then see if your card is working normally on the 6950 BIOS. If so, switch to the unlocked BIOS and test for stability.

Also, make sure it isn't the motherboard malfunctioning. Try using the other PCIe slots.

sorry i should have mentioned i also have new SSD drive with fresh system fresh drivers etc card is flshed back to 6950 and thats where i am getting fans spinning like mad, if i flash again to 6970 i got no image. Board is working fine with other cards i got Nvidia card (some crappy 512mb) PCI-e and works without any issues...i will try playing with drivers maybe older ones will work but just wanted to know if anyone has ever seen this happening? why wouldnt my modded(unlocked) card work on new board if it worked perfectly fine on the old one?

It seems very strange that it would stop working... Try a different BIOS and remodding it to unlock the extra shaders.
