Corsair C70 cooling setup

Hi All

I just built a new rig with the following:

Corsair C70 military green
AMD fx-8350
Asrock 990fx extreme3(to be changed with sabertooth soon)
Powercolor HD 7870 Myst edition(tahiti)
xfx 550w PSU
corsair veanganvce 8 Gb ddr3 1600mhz low profile memory.

I currently have the 3 stock fans running, as well as 2 Bitfenix 140mm fans at the top for exhaust (1 x spectre, 1 x spectre pro)

I also stuck a zalman cnps9500A on the cpu temporarily, as the stock hsf was driving me nuts.

What would be the best cooling configuration, apart from custom water cooling. For the CPU i was looking at the corsair H80i, or even the H100i, but I have heard these need to run as intakes, and I dont really want to lose the exhaust in the case. Air cooling might still be the safest for now, but what would work best that doesn't cause clearance issues for my GPU?

Any advise would be highly appreciated?

You can put your aio rad in place of one of the drive cage so that it is an intake.

personnaly I use this setup on my c70 :

2 *120mm intakes at the front + 2 stock 120mm behind the hdd cages
a 140mm at the bottom (intake) and one at the top (exhaust)
a 120mm at the back (exhaust)
I use a hyper 212 evo for cpu cooling with 2 120mm fans

On the corsiars, you'll won't loose the exhaust, since they fans in the radiator that you can turn around and use as an exhaust.

Thank you for the suggestions. WIll the 212 evo be enough to keep it cool when I decide to OC. I have heard the installation is tricky? Which fans are you using for the front intake?

FIshinfan, When turning the fan around to exhaust, on, say the H100i, will the exhaust fan still sufficiently cool the rad?

Also, what do you guys think of the thermalright mux 120 or venemous X RT?

So in order : I don't know much about your cpu so I won't be able to tell you how far you'd be able to push it, I do know that this cooler is efficient as long as you keep the overclock reasonnable. It's not a top tier cooler, just has good perf/price ratio.
The installation is not tricky, in fact I found mounting the intel stock cooler trikier. It requires a backplate though and to take your time to do things in the right order. I know it will fit in the c70 but will block one fan spot on the side panel.
For intake fans I use corsair's SP120 so get air through the drive cages, and the stock fan on the cages ( maybe not necessary though )

THanks, I did get some Sp120s yesterday, will add it to see how it goes. I opted for the H100i for now, as I have never tried watercooling. So far it seems to run well, my motherboard is running pretty hot though. I'm going to play around with the fan config to see what works the best.
