[Kitguru] - EA: Mirror’s Edge 2 not possible on current-gen - Page 5

Here we go again with the PC vs consoles crap...
If there was real money to be made from PC games, PC would have been the leading platform all along... It always had the advantage of performance and openness.
Guess what, it turns out that the majority of gamers just don't care.

I actually really like the gunplay in the original, I wished there was more chances to do it tongue.gif. It was very refreshing. I hope they don't change it too much, using the guns should be hard.

Hmmm. I'm a bit skeptical about re-working the combat system (it certainly has room for improvement, but please don't screw it up), but I'm all for unleashing more computational power on the game, I'm glad they're not restricting themselves because of the PS3/Xbox360.

I'm not certain I'll pre-order it (it's dangerous to do that with EA), but I'm incredibly excited for its release thumb.gif

I also really like the balance between gunplay and melee of the original. I loved the 1st person parkour and how you could make things look so cool. Here's one of my favorite recordings from when I played it years ago:

If they force gun play on us in this game, I won't buy it. The first game had plenty of action - it was called running. Guns = dumbing down for the mainstream. EA is about to kill the only good thing they ever had...

Now I understand that you won't answer the games question, but I think many of us would appreciate a look into an actual devs problems, workflow, etc. I would appreciate it for sure.

Rather hard to do right without identifiable specifics, but I'll think about it when I've got time tomorrow. I recommend going through most of the Extra Credits videos, I like to use those a lot because they're a nice quick insight into the world without unnecessary detail.

Yea, especially how exactly you dumb down the textures, AI, and other things you mentioned without making it obvious to the player, that I like to see in some article or something... If you have the time. biggrin.gif

This game I hope will be as good as if not better than the last. I loved the play style and how there was nothing else like it. By the looks of the new one I think it will be quite a bit better.
