Hi, i was wonderering what people thought were better ( in terms of quality and airflow); the Corsair Carbide 500r or the Fractal Arc Midi R2? They are basically identically priced in New Zealand from the shop I am buying from (500r being cheaper). Or do you believe I should get the 400r, which is $60 cheaper (NZD)?

So it is currently looking like the ARC, anyone want to post some reasoning?

I would get the Arc. I love mine. It has a lot of room for a simple Watercooling setup if that's what you're looking for.

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2.

A. it comes with Fractal Design Silent Series R2 140mm fans (Fluid dynamic bearing)
B. filtered top, bottom, front
C. supports 240 rad on top and front without hassle
D. has fan controller that doesn't just work with the included fans
E. isn't as huge heightwise
F. Midi R2 (2013) is newer than 500R , which is a design from 2011
G. 140mm fans go everywhere there's a fan mount (top, front, side, bottom, rear)

The 500R has no side intake filter and the side 200mm fan is a problem unless you replace it with 2x 140mm. It doesn't support 140mm fans on front either (140mm fan mounts on side panel, top panel, bottom, and rear =6 total). The 500R probably has more cooling performance (debatable since there's no 140mm mounts on the front) due to side panel if you were to swap out all the LED fans but then the total price would be much higher.
