I agree with Bloodbath and Blooddrunk, it's most likely an overlay causing problems. So you disable the Steam in-game overlay through Steam settings or any video card monitoring overlay installed. Also try disabling cloud storage through Origin and the Origin overlay as well if that doesn't work.
And one more piece of info in case you hit the same scenario I did, did you just purchase the game and this is your first time attempting to play it? I had the issue last week when I purchased the game, and after 3 hours of troubleshooting my machine, EA support found the issue was on their end. Apparently when I purchased it through Origin, it appeared that 2 separate purchases were put through (even though I received payment confirmation and was only charged for 1) so their systems thought that I purchased the game twice, so whenever I tried to run the client or connect through Battlelog it didn't know which copy to authenticate and would instantly crash. They only found that out after trying to log into my account on one of their machines and encountered the same issue I was having. So if you can't seem to find a local solution on your machine, you may need to give them a call and have them check that.
