CPU Drawing way over target voltage?

Thread Starter
Hi guys. I currently have a FX-8350 and am trying to get 4.5 GHZ. It wasn't stable at stock voltages so I bumped it up to 1.375 volts. According to HWMonitor and CPU-Z, it is drawing 1.424 volts under load. My LLC is on Regular for my 990FXA-UD3 Rev 1.1. Why is the voltage so high and how can I fix it?
Thanks!

Try another LLC setting perhaps.

Remember to account for overvoltages/droop and Add voltage accordingly as well.

Yeah, I thought that too. I just went through all the LLC settings and wrote down the maximum voltages.
Here is what I got

Extreme 1.392
Ultra High 1.440
High 1.440
Medium 1.424
Regular 1.424
Auto 1.392

The Extreme voltages seemed off, but I double checked it, and it's accurate.

Why do I consistently have VBoost? Is there anything I can do or just account for it? Is there a LLC level I should use? I'm on Extreme right now because it's closest to my target voltage of 1.375

On my board i have had issues with voltage fluctuation as well. My only solution i found was to Account for it and just offset your voltage settings accordingly.

Looking at your results, Extreme would be the best bet most likely.

Yeah, ill just do that. Thanks!

hello,
disable apm as it sets voltage.i think that that's the turbo setting for the voltage.

APM was already disabled.
