Led strip and fan controller

Thread Starter
hello everyone.

I was thinking if its possible to connect a led strip (since it has 2 cables a +12v and a ground) to a typical fan connector to make it possible to power the strip directly from the motherboard. Even more if the above is possible instead of connecting the ledstrip to the motherboard can you connect it to a typical fan controller so the knob controls how bright the leds are ?

As long as the led strip you are using is standard type, and you are not trying to draw more current than your controller will handle then there is no reason why connecting to fan controller will not work. A fan controller and LED Dimmer use similar circuitry.
