dvdr burning question

hi, idk if this is the right place to put this topic or not.
here it is:
iam planing on buying a dvd burner, but there is something iam not clear of.
when i burn data to a dvd, the size will the the dvd size (4gb) ?
so that means i can burn just data contents in that 4GB dvd ?

Most DVDs are 4.7GB and you can burn whatever you want, music, videos, data, games. It all depends on the burning software you have, Nero is the one I use and its great.

yes .. and if you have a dual layer dvd you can burn twice that much ..

i would advise when you get a burner.. to make sure it supports dvd+r and dvd-r DL .. so if you have a standard 4.7 gig dvd you can put 4.7 gigs of music data .. on to it .. and what not..

i have no idea what that question means.if you are asking if u can burn up to 4 gb of data onto a 4gb cd than the answer is yes..............if thats not what ur asking try to rephrase the question

ok, hey guys, will this dvd burner able to burn double sided ?

and are all dvd's(blank dvds) u buy are double side burneable ?
for double side burn, if i burn data on 1 side and music on 1 side, will the music side play on a dvd or cd player ?

i like this one myself.. its a faster version of the one im using and lite on is well just the best .. for me that is.. and ive never really seen burnable double sided dvds.. hell i dont even see them for movies anymore.. but id presume if you had them you would burn one side.. then flip it over and burn the other

ok 1 more question, i know that dvdr and dvdrw is rewiteable or not,
but wats dvd-r and dvd+r ? wats the differences in "-" and "+" ?

thats a hard to anwser question.. but the best case is to get the burner that does -+ so your covered the - disc are less expensive and the + disc seem to um handle better ...

i have heard that dvd-r's are compatible with all set top dvd players and not dvd+r's with some older set top dvd players
