Expecting it to be around 40% faster than Richland is not delusional.

Not only that... the memory controller will provide the GPU and CPU a unified memory address. That means the CPU and GPU share memory directly as opposed to the current reserved memory for the GPU implementation. This removes layers of communication and latency.
Once again...

Light gaming (he was a hardcore wow player, but nothing much more demanding) and hes starting to get interested by video editing. Other than that, pretty normal usage. He's been running a C2D since it's release and still says it's "good" for him (gives you an idea of the horse power he needs)

If he calls it good for him now, I would suggest he waited on Kaveri. Supposedly from AMD, it will be much improved for productivity and creation software over the current Richland/Trinity offerings. At the same token, if a C2D is good enough, a 5800k would blow his mind! (selling for roughly $110 or less). Or step him up to the current 6800k just for the slight increase in performance and since they improved the design a bit, lowering voltages and temps slightly, as well as increased stability and OC overhead. Then he could wait till two or three revisions to upgrade again.
