The tablets with SoC's aren't as fast as tablets with Intel Atom/Core series or nVidia Tegra series correct?

Aren't the SoC's not just a CPU, but they handle all types of functions on a device like the USB, SD slots, networking, and various other peripheral component functions?

So I am thinking that a tablet with a traditional CPU and separate components for other functions would be much faster than a tab with the SoC type?

Except that Tegra IS SoC, and a weak one at that. Intel is hard to compare to ARM, they're totally different architectures with different instruction sets and different goals.
