Upgrade Advice - crossfire to 2x6970 or wait for price drop on 8000 series?

Thread Starter
I'm currently rocking a single Sapphire 2GB 6950 unlocked to 6970

There is a sale on a 6970 Sapphire 2GB at newegg for $170 (tax included).

Should I jump on this? I plan on upgrading again when there's a price drop on the 8000 series, or even if i could hold out till 9000 series. NOT going to Nvidia, i dont care what they roll out.

I'd rather hold out till the 9000 series since I'd be upgrading the whole system at that time, mobo cpu gpu etc (basically everything minus case & PSU), but there is no way my current, single card will last that long.

suggestions!

AND YES, I KNOW THAT 8000 OR 9000 SERIES ISNT EVEN OUT YET. but from what I have read they are just refreshing the same architecture for 8000 series, so i'm not expecting great gainz

A 620W PSU is not going to be adequate for 2x 6970 - as far as I know you're going to need at least a 750. I ran a 850 with my CF 6970s.
