hi look at this one don't like the idea of hitting it with a hammer lol so I did it this way look at this
me temps dropped from 70c when we had colder weather.
to now summer room temp 26C max temp I get now is 48c not 52c like I said did a test yesterday. so winter will be even cooler this is a mild overclock at 4.3ghz.
ask I said before intel did a really bad job putting the TIM on. about a pea size on the core wasn't covered so that wasn't helping.
I was definitely considering this but I think I will wait until I put my chip under water. I want to see how well a Alphacool Monsta rad will fit upfront in an Arc Midi, without the HDD cages of course.
For day to day use it has been fine. I do seem to be having blue screens lately and am not sure if that is related to the CPU temps or not because they are happening at odd times, such as when it shouldn't be under too much load.
And isn't the vice method the safer way to go about delidding? I have one handy so that is what I'll probably end up doing.
putting it under water will only help a little bit as the problem is between the TIM and the cores.Edited by Rbrace16 - 8/29/13 at 1:35am
