Can I add a 7970 to this loop?

Thread Starter
I currently have an i7 990x OC'ed to 4.52 water cooled on the following setup

1) Reservoir - XSPC 5.25" Bay Reservoir - Clear Acrylic
2) Pump - Danger Den DD-CPX Pro 237 GpH
3) Radiator - EK CoolStream 360 XT Series w/ 6x120mm Scythe Ultra Kaze in push pull
4) Water block - EK Supreme HF Universal CPU Block

I currently have a 6970 air cooled card and I'm wanting to upgrade to a 7970 with a waterblock. Can My current system handle it or will I have to add another rad? My current temps are fine 24/7 and if I understand correctly it doesnt matter where in the loop I add the GPU as long as the Res stays feeding the pump

Thanks in advance for your advice/tips

A 360mm rad is enough for your 990x and a 7970, for sure.

Then general rule of watercooling is 120mm radspace per device, and 120mm fanspace per overclock.

The EK Coolstream has relatively low fins per inch, so it probably isn't taking much advantage of push/pull fans, but you should be able to get away with your CPU + GPU on your current loop.

Should be alright, you can always add another rad later if you want better temps.
