I read to run 8320 on it I need bios version F7, wich was released somewhere in 2012. Will that motherboard have f7 or higher?

Build so far

I know I exagerated on the case lol.. But if the mobo is just fine for what I want, then the budget for a case is around 100 euros

Are you sure about the motherboard? Cause I have no way to flash it myself if i cant get into windows or something. Unless i can take the files into an usb then flash? But idk if pc will run without CPU. Im a noob.

Also im probably going to take a 90-100 case not 100+ euro case lol like the nzxt Phantom or haf xm, haf 922 etc ill check around, just need to know for sure if this setup works.

you might need a cpu that is compatible with the mobo to flash it.
yes, just need the bios.rom file from gigabyte on a memory stick to flash it.
the mobo will support your cpu,
but i'm wondering if it has cpu load line?,
which is a bar in overclocking the fx due to the v-droop that they get from going at max speed on eight cores.

I read its fine to OC with, just that I need F7 or higher.

F7 is released in 2012 and they said if u buy the motherboard after that date, itll have the update. But im not sure if its true for the motherboard I linked.. I mean they also said to go for the highest revision to be safe, and this one doesnt have revision

If you dont want to overclock then the 970 will be alright but i really suggest getting a 990fx board if your budget allows

Id go with a m5a99x evo if you cant afford anything better, its a great 6+2 phase board for the money and wont let you down smile.gif

Revision 1 is 120 euros, revision 2 is 128 euros or so

It used to be 108 euros for rev 2 like yesterday.. that was still okay as I could still get a good case

and I do want to OC, and read the 970 from gigabyte is equal to 990fx version.

I just want to be sure i can use the 970 out of the box, i dont have another AMD cpu to use on the motherboard to be able to update the bios

Hehe thats one of the threads I found on google. I just dont know wich "F" version the motherboard will have when I buy it, thats my only concern

Theres also this option: http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/info/p808382_Asus-M5A97-EVO-AMD-970-So-AM3--Dual-Channel-DDR-ATX-Retail.html

Would ofc prefer the gigabyte

In the future I wont crossfire/Sli or anything and If I do, that means I got the cash to spend, so i just change mobo lol

when you end up compromising with your build (hardware) at start then on down the line it will bite you for it.
regardless if you go AMD or Intel..
