no not at all, without that ugly plastic casing, the tiny speakers, and stupid transparent nub of a stand.. I bet each panel weights at least 30% less.
The stand is solid, and the light weight panels have no effect on it.

To answer you Iggg, yes I tried my best to 'counter sink' the screws by using the drill bit to make the holes for them and then screwing them in tightly into the hex nuts that I placed on the other side.
I was semi-successful in the 'counter-sinking' but if I knew more about screws and had used a thicker wood board then it probably would've been easier to achieve a better result.
I started doing that (bought and cut the board to size, aswell as bought and started using the screws, but aborted it , since it just seemed more complicated than needed). The high shear strength gel epoxy I used permanently glued the pcb box to the panel directly. honestly the weak point now is the pcb box itself with the vesa anchors. (but this is still not a problem, there is a little flex in the pcb box metal, but nothing to worry about)Edited by ForceD - 7/16/13 at 8:35am
