You have the option to use voice and motion controls, PS4 has no option for that ether.
You have the option to stream content onto the console without having to worry about DRM, On the PS4 the DRM known as Cinavia will be right at home making sure your media files are sony approved.
You have the option at access your Xbox Via PC/Tablet/Phone, on the PS4 you have to use that "vita" abomination or a tablet.
Also for someone that is looking to use a console as their main next device and has no interest in PCs what makes the PS4 a better multiplat machine then the One? Devs already have a great relationship with MS and 3rd party games already tend to work better on the xbox anyways. If somebody was looking to play games online like BF4 or COD I would imagine the One being a better looking device to get. Not only that but you got to pay for PSN to play online, I could see a lot of people avoiding PSN because of that. Why pay for a second rate service that doesn't even give you dedicated servers like the One will? I would bet a lot of PS3 users that play online regulatory picked the console because they wouldn't have to pay for live. XBL will be the more compelling service to get for people that want to play games online.
PS3 had a good launch, but sales plummeted shortly after. I'm pretty sure if I told you PS3 was going to be the console that did the worst that gen after coming from the success of the PS2 people would probably call me nuts.
Ok lemme break down my issues with the xb1 in order:
Why would I hook my cable box up to my Xbox 1, switching between tv and games would just mean either several Xbox button presses or yelling at the kinect a couple times to get it to switch. Alternatively, I can not hook my cable box to it and hit one button on my remote to switch to TV like I have been for years.
The "option" to use motion controls is there sure but how many times am I going to have to repeat myself or wave my hands in a certain direction to get it to do what I want to? I will likely have to slowly and clearly annunciate to get the kinect to understand me like I'm talking to a deaf person and look like I'm trying to do aerobics to use the motion.
The "option" to stream content has no appeal to me unless I can download it and load it onto my iPhone from the console itself.
And as for the "option" to access PSN from you phone or tablet you can do it. Sony released a video showing off the new PSN interface and it clearly shows a girl sending messages over PSN from a smartphone. The video was in the news section of this site last week.
Next, what makes the ps4 better for people who want to game is the fact that Sony has a huge stable of first party developers. Infamous:second son comes to mind as something not coming to Xbox. I'm sure there's a helluva lot more but I missed e3 since I was on vacation. Also, you say games work better on Xbox? Well that issue has been sorted by both consoles now using x86 so no more sky rim like issues on ps4. Why would someone playing COD or bf4 see the Xbox as a better console for them, you need to give reasons for this. As for PSN having to be paid for now ill agree, I'm pretty pissed about that. But as for a "second rate" service that doesn't give dedicated servers? I have never had a problem playing online on my ps3 and I don't think the average 13 year old that will be buying this knows what a dedicated server is.Edited by Deadboy90 - 6/27/13 at 9:52am
