Looking for a audio system

Thread Starter
Hey OCN,

I'm looking for a new audio/home theater system for my house. I'm hoping to find a surround sound system with a built in blu-ray and dvd player as well as internet access (netflix, youtube, etc) if possible. I have seen a couple at the store but I was hoping someone here could recommend some options that are good. Right now I have a separate blu ray player that also does netflix and a 7.1 surround sound system. I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg (Nothing too far over $350) for this but I do want quality. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

You already have a 7.1 and want a new one but you have a budget of $350? I'm going to be extremely honest with you, don't waste your time or money looking for a new one at that price and with built in stuff. Just keep what you have. If you are not looking to spend somewhere near $1000 for a good receiver, separate speakers, and a powered sub then I just cannot recommend upgrading. There is no Home Theater in a Box solution that I can recommend for that price. Also, those receiver/blu-ray player/combo units have terrible processing power and you will constantly be complaining of waiting for menus to load and buffering times.

My recommendation to you is keep your current blu-ray player and save your money for components that will actually make you smile when you listen to them.

Home theaters in a box are not good quality. $350 is pretty low for a decent theater set up. I agree with the above poster.

Are you mostly looking for Internet streaming capabilities?
