Windows 7 customization for a student

Thread Starter
Hi fellow enthusiasts, I recently bought a laptop for school and was wanting to customize my windows 7 with useful programs, and features for a student in college studying Chemistry.

I was thinking of incorporating the periodic table on my desktop to reference quickly. Also, I would like a nice calender/agenda for important dates. As well as anything else that would be useful and make things more efficient. I know a lot of the set up will be my preference but I really would like some ideas to work off of.

Thanks!

This is a pretty good calendar gadget that I use. It works with iCal format, so google calendar will work.
