Could a korean panel w/DVI-D work with next-gen consoles? (Using HDMI1.4 - DVI-D adapter)

Thread Starter
I'm assuming it would since they are both now confirmed to have HDMI 1.4 with 4K resolution support. Wondering what other people think though.

This would be fantastic, current gen consoles are the only reason I keep my 1080p monitor around. (I have a QNIX that only has a DVI-D port frown.gif )

Well I am not sure if they will work but I asked the question over at 1440p+ club about PS4 or Xbox one on a 1440p monitor, and the answer I got was what I expected

Since 1440p monitors are native 1440p and 1080p is only possible via downscaling, the games will not look as great as a native 1080p screen.

Depends on the panel in question. As for your qnix, probably not.

I think it may also depend on which one you choose. The single DVI input ones don't have a scaler in them and rely on the graphics card driver (I think this is the way those work, which results in the lack of imput lag). I don't think consoles will work at all on these. The multi imput ones have the scaler and will most likely work. I guess it really depends on what resolution settings you have with the next gen consoles.

This will not work. Well, let me clarify - one person got it working. It was, however, at the cost of stability - the monitor was barely stable and was clearly being pushed beyond its limits.

HDMI 1.4a is not compatible with dual link DVI.
