PWM pump + fans

I got a water cooling loop and a bunch of PWM Noctua fan on my rads, connected to the CPU fan connector with a splitter.

I just realized that my motherboard (Sabertooth z77) has a CPU OPT fan connector.

Now I know that I can't plug a PWM pump with PWM fans on the same header. But can I connect a PWM pump on that OPT header?

Thanks.

you can. the OPT header mirrors the main CPU header.

That's actually the splitter I have

. Five NF-F12 are connected to it, and it does a great job.

I'm not concerned by the power. The reason why it is not advised to connect different type of fans and/or a pump on the same PWM header is the RPMs. That's why I was wondering if the CPU OPT was working as an independent PWM controller, able to control a PWM pump while the primary CPU header handles the fans.

ah yeah at least in my P8Z68, there's only one adjustment for both CPU and CPU_OPT. CPU OPT isnt independent, it mirrors the main CPU header in terms of PWM control.
