Most monitor's specs are hyped by the manufacturer anyway. So 2ms may not really be any different from 4ms. You'd never notice the difference.

Lower ms is better. I think the rule is that anything below 16ms will have no ghosting. I'm enjoying my 7900GTX on a 17 inch monitor with 12ms, no ghosting at all.

You will do good with 8ms or lower. I have a Samsung LCD with 4ms and there is no ghosting even in CS:S! 4ms will be enough, no sense in spending the extra for the 2ms. I don't even think the human eye can process the change that fast to even notice a difference in 2 to 4ms.

Ha, my 25mS SIP-S panel does great in games. If I try to make ghosting happen, I can notice it, but during gameplay whether its FPS or racing I don't notice any.The picture is perfectly clear. So I would think 4mS is plenty fast!

something I read recently regarding this topic...

While lower response times (2ms-8ms) allow a monitor to more quickly produce changes on-screen and also allow sharper/softer imaging as needed, drawbacks of a lower response time are 1. it may lengthen the amount of time needed to change resolutions, depending on the manufacturer and screen size. 2. faster monitors have a more difficult time accurately representing colors, which worsens with age; especially noted in LCD monitors that use VGA connections. And 3. Low RT usually makes a monitor more succeptable to screen fluctuation and/or interference from sources that produce EMI (electro-magnetic interference; like PC's that do not use/have spread-spectrum), objects with a polar draw (magnets), and also the slightest weakness in a connection, may all attribute to poor display quality or abnormalities.

This was not copied word-for-word. I simply paraphrased it from what I recall reading. I hope someone found this info useful.
