Looking at purchasing an external microphone - Suggestions?

Hi all,

So I was considering getting an external mic for my PC, I have a headset with a mic already, but this is for the days where I'm just on Skype, and well I'm just too damn lazy to throw on my big bulky gaming headset for a simple Skype call. And well it tends to give me a headache after a few hours (the headset) anyways, so this would be good.

So as you can tell, doesn't need to be some huge expensive top notch microphone or anything. Just for basic use and such. And I haven't really been able to find anything under $200ish that looks decent, and well I don't really know too much about audio. My budget is about $50, but it's flexible, I'd just prefer not to spend any more than that, as I'm sure there's got to be something cheap out there that'll do the trick.

Just want to make sure it's not one of those cheap ones that you gotta scream into for people to hear you :s

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: No, I don't have a webcam with an integrated mic. I'm on a desktop, and my monitor doesn't have a webcam with an integrated mic.

If you're using a webcam with Skype, many of the better webcams have a decent built-in microphone that would probably work for you.  I know several people that chat on Skype that way.

Problem is, I'm on a desktop, and I don't have a webcam :/ I don't really have a need for one either, I'd rather just get a mic tongue.gif
