ASUS Crosshair V + Corsair AX750 startup issue

Greetings.

I have a peculiar issue with my rig. Basically, I am no longer able to start it up by pressing the power button or even the start button on the motherboard; it used to work fine, though I can't say I can pinpoint the exact time this started happening.

The only way to start it up is to unplug the power cable on the PSU (the one going to the wall socket) and slowly plugging it back in. If it doesn't turn on, unplug and keep trying until it does. The telltale sign that it'll turn on is that there will be an electrical buzzing sound, the kind you hear when you put two wires together, followed by the PSU fan spinning up. If it buzzes, I can safely plug it all the way in. Yes, it sounds dangerous, but luckily I haven't electrocuted myself yet.

My rig was overclocked to 4.0GHz stable for the first year of its life, but I've throttled everything back down to stock nowadays. I've tried clearing the CMOS, changing the battery, unplugging everything except the CPU and RAM, inserting only one RAM stick, replaced the cables from the PSU going to my components, and no luck yet.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Or does anyone have any idea what else I could possibly try to investigate?

Thanks.
irot

Just to rule that out did you use stand offs under the motherrboard?

Yup, I'm using the standoffs that came with my casing.
