EVGA Superclocked overclock results, plus comparison to 660TI SLI.

Edit: Sorry, I am terrible at formatting. The screencaps are for quick reference. All of the 3DMark numbers are hyperlinked to the verification page, where you can see the rest of the build and proof that it is the card I claim it to be.

Hello. I purchased and overclocked a GTX 780 today, and wanted to share my results in hopes of helping any potential buyers. Quick back story

A watercooling accident destroyed my 660TI SLI cards, and after crying for a few days I was faced with the choice of purchasing two more 660 TI's, or a 780. Many said the 660's would give me about the same performance as a 780 with less SLI headaches. I ended up going with the 780 and have been amazed by the results.

First, here is the validation

As seen in the validation I achieved a core clock overclock of +117, and a memory clock of 1777 using an offset of +550. This overclock is OCCT stable after 6 hours, though I do not have a screenshot for that. All of this was done using Drivers 320.18, in Windows 8 64x. My peak temps in OCCT were 78 with a simple and relatively aggressive fan curve.

The GTX 780 performed well at stock, scoring 9039 in 3DMark Firestrike,

Though ultimately this score was disappointing as my 660 TI's scored 9688.

The stock score in Heaven Benchmark was 877.

The overclock was what really impressed me about this card. What initially was a large downgrade from my 660TI's, ended up overclocking to well above what I expected. My 3DMark score of 9039 increased all the way to 10295,

...and my heaven benchmark score hit precisely 1000.

Although I do not have a screenshot, accordng to my scratchpaper my peak HeavenBenchmark score on my 660 TI SLI setup was 726 with an +85Mhz core overclock.

Thus far I have not had any issue running any game on maximum settings in 1440p at a minimum of 60fps, including Farcry 3. (Enjoy that hard data?). I have yet to run Metro LL, and have no intention of running Crysis 3.

[[This space is reserved for Metro: LL benchmarks when I have time.]]

Also, I get billions of frames in DOTA 2.

I know this whole post isn't very concise, but I really just wanted to highlight how overclock-able the GTX 780 is, and how great of a card it is. The only real con is that I may not be able to pay off the credit card, but I will figure that out at a later date.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have!

Edit: I don't know how to grammar.

How are the FPS compared from 780 on 1440p monitor to the 660ti on a 1440p monitor?

Thank you! I updated the post a bit in hopes of bettering my grammar and readability. The framerate has increased by about 10-15 FPS by going to the 780. Games with poor SLI support or other bugs (I am looking at you Tomb Raider) have seen tremendous improvement, going from 40FPS average to closer to 70. I haven't had much time to get any real data on this, and sadly my 660's are dead, so I can no longer screenshot any of their benchmarks.

The lack of SLI bugs is great, though. No stuttering, no flickering (which I had upon occasion), and games with no SLI support run wonderfully (Staring at you now, Planetside 2).
