ZOTAC 680 AMP - Adding extra heatpipe to cooler...

Thread Starter
Hello.

Recently I've changed my GPU to 680 AMP edition from ZOTAC. I've noticed that it's cooler has one heatpipe missing originally but there is a place on the cooler (holes) to mount it.

How do you think, if I could managed to find the same copper heatpipe and fit it in the cooler, would there be any impact on temperatures ?

Well, if you can 'find' it and manage to weld it back on, then either of the 2 will happen.

- All stays the same as the weld heat transfer is poor
- Temperature decrease by a few *C's if done correctly

I honestly doubt temperatures would go up

Any Info about why there is a place for it but heatpipe is missing out of the box ? I'm just wondering why they removed it ?

Maybe the heat pipe cracked or was faulty, and they removed it?

But all 680 AMP's looks the same as mine as I'm looking on the pictures. I'll ask on Zotac forums maybe they know the answer. Tecnically for me is no problem to do this right as I'm working with copper all the time. Only reason I'm asking - is it's worth the hustle ?
