The Koolance CTR- SPD10 pump controller actually draws 3 amps. The only thing is the 25 watts output.

if its safe output is rated at 25W. its rated at 25W. If you put anything of a higher wattage on the output, you'll have fireworks. 25W is approx 2.08A at 12V. if your pump draws more than 2A, I wouldn't put it near the controller. Especially with electric motors, you want some current overhead for startup currents.

Feel free to try it if you want some toasted electronics. smile.gif

Watts = Volts X Amps

24 Watts = 12V X 2A
The extra watt for the 25W maximum is provided by the fact the controller goes up to 12.7V

Frozen CPU probably got that rating from the fact that Koolance uses one manual for several controllers, including the one designed to cope with the PMP500
https://koolance.com/files/products/manuals/manual_ctr-spdxx_d100eng.pdf

Koolance has specifically put a warning on the product page for this pump telling you not to use it with 25 Watt controllers.

Any pump controller recommendation? It has to have a knob. Cant used the Koolance one that will work on the pump cuz it's too big.

The older/smaller version of Koolance CTR-SPD24 controller reviewed by Martin - will this work on the PMP-500 pump? I found in some other net articles that it has an adjustable voltage pot but it doesn't clearly show in the picture.
