Ty for the link. Just looking at the comparisons now, would it be wise to even buy a 4770k? Tons better than a i7-950 and slightly better than a 4670k. I plan to play BF4 when it comes out and probably The Diversion
It's about $100 for me to switch to an i7-950 & EVGA x79 SLI to a 4670k & MSI Z87-G45

Only $100!? Well, in that case, then yeah I can't find fault with that. Still, Haswell just leaves me with a huge MEH feeling. I wouldn't worry about the SATA 2 vs. 3 discrepancy. Wouldn't be physically noticeable 98% of the time, unless you're working with huge files on a constant basis.

If it was me I would buy a 4670 or 4770 if budget permits for an upgrade from a i7 950.

Your 480 should handle bf4 as my 570 does bf3 fine at 1080. You may want a new GPU for more eye candy or higher res though.

A gtx 480 is considerably more powerful than the gtx 460 though, in my opinion he could still use that 480 at 1080p for bf4. In all honesty you could upgrade either his cpu or his gpu, bother would be worthwhile.

Also OP I believe bf3 makes use of HT in the 3770k, so yes if the 4770k is within your budget id say go for it. (guessing that bf4 will also make use of HT).
