average 3570k temps?

Thread Starter
what are some good temperatures for your i5? i had cpuid hardware monitor running while listening to pandora and playing world of tanks. i got like 50's celcius. that seems kind of high for my Phanteks PH-TC14PE but maybe thats normal. I really want to start overclocking now but I need to know if i need to do somthing about this heat issue first.

I'm assuming this is at stock fequency. If so I would say the temperatures seem about right. I mean your max temp is 105C, and the hottest you should have it for regular use is anywhere between 80-95 depending on who you ask. The temps you have seem within the norm, and they will give you quite a bit of OC headroom thumb.gif

Those temps seem fine to me. When you start overclocking your temps will steadily rise along with vcore until you see them shoot up to like 90C. Thats when youve found your vcore limit.

No problem, my personal preference is stay under 80C at full load. I believe on Ivy bridge the moment your temps start to shoot up is around the 1.3v mark.

This cannot be rectified by air cooling or watercooling unfortunately either, its due to poor heatsink contact on the actual cpu.

Also if you get stuck whilst overclocking that 3570k, I made a quick guide on how to overclock it, helped me OC my 3770k thumb.gif

Don't change your ram settings until you have finished overclocking your cpu.

Don't use the xmb profile for your ram until you have finalized your overclock thumb.gif
