According to Cnet , Mac Pro 2013 model will have the highest cost up to $ 4,755 (nearly 100 million). This is only calculated based on the hardware, not including other expenses that Apple left out in the manufacturing process.
One other important factor affecting the price of the Mac Pro 2013 where production. The market research firm said products labeled "Made In USA" will be higher than the production model and assembled in other countries by the number of orders that do not cost too much to expensive components. Andrew Rassweiler, senior director of IHS iSuppli, said in the array produce smaller computer devices such as phones, superior production costs by 10 to 20 USD has been considered as an alarm.
Accept that how it's been designed seems to be more for "normal" customers rather than real professionals who probably couldn't care less how it looks and would rather have a machine that is more expandable and easily upgradeable... and not something with (what I'm assuming) is less than optimal cooling.
Yes. but it's a 12 core Haswell Xeon part. So far I didn't see any exact specifications.
it is an Ivy Xeon.
The price point and performance requirements make it a narrow market, but the design of it has to be one of the best designs ive seen out of a desktop in years. Its such a small form factor, and its freaking gorgeous. Call it a trashcan or r2d2, but this is something that will sit on everyone's desk and not the floor and be a conversation piece for a couple years. Its literally the most innovation apple has done in years, and that include the original ipod touch and iphone releases. If they keep this up they will be moving back up.
Well if you ask me:Originally Posted by s-x

PS. I hate apple as a company, and think that almost every apple product is a joke with exception to the unibody macbooks (retina, pro, air) and new mac pro.
Glorified Newton's, the ipod touch could be seen as a Newton without dial up function
Glorified Macbook G4
Glorified black Isub
Reread my post, im not saying those devices are innovative (the exception of the mac pro). I know the unibody macbook line has design ties to their macbook g4, however I was trying to state that the unibody macbook line is one of the best overall laptops. Great trackpad, great keyboard, good screen, great battery life, durable, feels light. If the apple premium wasnt so high, and windows had better support, I would buy one. Meanwhile their other products seem lackluster to me.Originally Posted by maarten12100

it is their answer to the cube which was a commercial flop even though I know most people liked the design. (the market now is ready)
No.
Sure it is innovative but mostly based on experience they are one of the few companies that actually re-invent things and make them work somehow.Originally Posted by s-x

Ah yes. you're right. Although I don't see a 12 core part listed on intel's site. Guess this is a unreleased model. Interesting.
I don't really get you standpoint on this. Are you suggesting it's a bad thing to improve upon your own designs? Or that they have done little innovative on the named products?Originally Posted by maarten12100

It is part of their EP update though the parts are already available at least to me that is.
I say it is a good thing to actually innovate instead of making a product worse or the same as most companies do.Originally Posted by Zenka

If you state that the step between the Newton and the iPhone is to small to be innovative, what do you call innovative in the world of tech?
But I do agree on your insight that the market will accept the new Mac Pro better then they did the G4 Cube in 2000
(Also since the main objective against it was it didn't had the same power the full size PowerMac, but did carry the same price.)
