With a mouse like the Steelseries Sensei is there really any need/benefit for me to have the mouse drivers installed at all other than for customization?

There is no mousedriver which enables the native CPI of a mouse. So i think the answer is no. Though there are some cases, where the mousedriver has some benefits. Example, Logitech G3/G5 etc. Setpoint driver makes u able to change polling rates to 125,250,333 or 1000hz. Also with Logitechs setpoint implementation u don't need regfixes or something like that to get rid of accel in all games. I also think the sensitivity downscalling of razer driver doesn't feel to bad (at least not for the abyssus. 1800 CPI is overkill and 450 CPI might be to less for a lot of people)
