starting to get off topic but ill try to get back on track at the last section
I'm from Hong Kong in China. I say this because China does not directly rule us, at least not yet. Our living standard is also considerably higher than 98% of China.
It is a weird place, you know us standard hard working asian people. We are good at 2 things, working and getting all our juice squeezed out by greedy employers at minimal costs. As a result, with insane inflation in the last 5-10 years(with the "aid" from rich mainland visitors), the living standard is now infinitely close to US....let's say California, but the average salary is probably half.
That said you guys pay more income tax and a 8-10% sales tax which even the scale up a bit. Still, money is easier earned in the US to some extent.
Though, as you said, your salary is already pretty high when compared within your own country, one of the leading ones in the world. So it's just high, period, and there's not much of a point comparing outside of it lol.
May I know the reason why you ask if I'm a doctor? I assume it's because you are? Now that I think of it the night shift makes a lot of sense huh...
I'm one of them average U graduate with an average job that happens to have OT pay included in the plan. Believe it or not, in my city most jobs don't give any reward to overtime working because technically "it's your job to finish everything within your responsibility". I'm already getting it good, kind of.
I actually just bought a laptop last year for gaming too. I got ambigious and tried to go portable so I ended up getting the Gigabyte G......N (god I can't remember lol) for like....USD1200. It has i5-3210 cpu, 8G ram, 640M non-LE GPU and a 120G SSD in a slim 14", 900p and <4 lbs shell. Oh did I mention it had backlit keyboard?
At the time of purchase, 900p on 14" was rare, 640M in a <4 lb was rare, and laptop with any SSD and also any midway graphic card was also rare. It was truly one of a kind...not a very strong setup but I don't play shooters either so I had high hopes for the experience.
Would give it an overall score of 70. 10 points deducted for build quality being medium (looks cheap on some less-obvious areas) and 20 points deducted for fans (often) going crazy loud randomly (I tried to locate the problem but failed). I suppose its just hard being a slim laptop with a small fan at that config and that price
Other than that it is an awesome laptop. Can't complain when that laptop, with that crazy config at that price last year, came with a mouse, a tablet-style case AND a traditional carry case
Well anyway, heard the laptops in alienware series are built like tanks. I hope your laptop vents well and have none of the problems my laptop is having. That's one real gaming machine you're about to get there
