Buying a phone on amazon with 2yr contract?

Got a pretty important question for you guys.
Right now my phone isn't eligible for an upgrade, however on Verizon with a family plan u can switch phone upgrade eligibility. That is what I will be doing. I'm wondering if anyone has bough a phone with a contract on amazon? The phone is $70 cheaper on amazon which is hard to believe.
Has anyone had like additional fee's or charges because u buy it off amazon?

This will be my first smart phone too BTW...I know, I'm wayyy behind on times with a phone...

Any advice would be great!

I bought my Gnex off of Amazon onto Verizon, couldn't complain.

I think the original one I received died when trying to use 4G with it but Amazon support was pretty good at getting me a replacement.

You didn't have any issues with the upgrade of the contract? I will be adding the data package, I currently don't have one...
