[EG] Xbox One memory performance improved for production console - Page 8

They have actually made it slower and are trying to desperately spin it to the contrary. Nice.

If anything, you're avoiding a question I've asked you twice by continuing to hang on one semantic issue that has long since been addressed.

edit

You're also taking the original "did you even read the article" 100% out of context. It was in reference to the question I keep asking you and not getting a response.

I'll ask it again..

You said "can't tell the difference between making a comparison and talking about how your own system works". In what article is either company just talking about how their own system works?

I quoted numerous examples of how that wasn't the case, and THAT is when I asked you if you even read the article.

If anything, you were implying MS had some hand in this article before changing your tune. Do you want to keep throwing the word hypocrite around and let it bite you?

Lets start from the beginning.

Below, you first clearly insinuate that MS both said that comparing hardware is meaningless, but are being hypocrites by "talking about how the Xbox has better memory".

I'm drowning in hypocrisy.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1405313/gs-xbox-executive-says-comparing-specs-is-meaningless

Which is obviously a stupid insinuation, given that MS didn't actually write this article (and therefore did no comparing, making hypocrisy impossible) and that the only link MS has to this article is the fact that EG has heard from someone within MS about the workings of their own ESRAM.

Which I point out to you:

You then once more assert that "they" are making comparisons, insinuating MS as "they". But then quote passages written by an independent journalist as somehow proof of the comparisons "they" were making in an attempt to continue to incorrectly assert MS's "hypocrisy".

Did you even read the article before posting?

(bunch of quotes from the writer of the article making comparisons, not MS that somehow means MS are making comparisons...)

Which is obviously starting to make less sense as your twisting and turning begins. If you now attempt to deny that you weren't trying to insinuate that MS weren't the ones making the comparisons, then you never actually had a point.

I once again attempt to make it known to you that the comparisons were not made by MS: Obviously bewildered at the fact that this even had to be explained.

Are you seriously attempting to blame Microsoft for JOURNALIST making comparison based on information that they have?

Really?

The writer of the article is the person doing all the comparing......

There is not a single quoted paragraph of words from Microsoft in the whole article.

Does the hate run so deep that even common sense or basic logic misses you?

My god........this hysteria is getting so stupid.

So obviously at this point you've realized just how incorrect attempting to call MS hypocrites over this article is......so you begin to accuse them of thought crime lachen.gif :

Neither article gives an isolated account of how either companies hardware solely works.

Oooooh I get it now. So when you originally called MS hypocrites because they said comparisons were almost meaningless.......it was because of what they would think about somebody else writing an article that makes comparisons........right.......what?

And you also attempt to assert that the only reason that you ever used terms referring to "they" because of what I said, when in reality the very first post of our convo started out with you using the word "they" to wrongfully refer to both MS and the writer of the article as one entity and hence wrongfully assert hypocrisy. Which is the only reason I replied to it in the first place.

I say that these posts are cartwheels and handstands smile.gif

Then asserting that due to your incorrect interpretation of what was right in front of you, belief that this was hypocritical.

That's like a democrat saying x and a republican saying y, then calling the democrat a hypocrite because the republican said the opposite of what they said...lachen.gif

Which is.........silly, isn't it? (rhetorical) You can't be hypocritical if the opposing article to enable hypocrisy comes from somebody else.

Which you've obviously now realized and are now doing backflips and cartwheels to pretend like you weren't asserting such silliness.

You respond with yet more cartwheels and handstands:

An edit didn't make it into what you quoted:
Yes, "they" would normally be the same entity with how I typed it, but that isn't what I meant.

I was going to remark about the 3 or 4 slurs in your post, but you edited them out before I hit the button to quote. Got something pent up buddy? Take a walk.

Except that if you weren't actually referring to both of them as the same entity, then you'd actually have no point in the first place. And you obviously were trying to make a point, that point being hypocrisy. Meaning you'd have to be taking the statements of two separate entities and mistakenly assuming they are one. Otherwise what we have is simply opposing situations/views and nothing to do with the so called hypocrisy you were "drowning in"

That was more of your cartwheels and handstands. I'm not exaggerating. They're there for everybody to see.

And you're still doing them smile.gif

What? In what article did anybody talk about their own system? (another cartwheel and handstand to make it seem as though the issue was not your blatant wrongness this whole, but all about some arbitrary question you think will "win" you something, ill bite though smile.gif ).

I never said MS talked about their system in the article, that's your additional spin (cartwheel and handstand smile.gif ) on it. My statement was a question of why people couldn't tell the difference between people making comparisons vs simply talking about how their own system works.

Ms supposedly talked about how their system works to digital foundry. They didn't make any comparisons, the journalist did. Once again, making your assertion of hypocrisy due to that inability to differentiate so lolworthy.

Its best that if you're in a hole, you should stop digging.......digging more only makes it deeper...you know?

Winning by omission is not winning. Several points and quotes are merrily missing. It isn't worth the effort to break it down further though. He's shown he absolutely won't address what I continually have brought up.

The keystone of his entire rampage is the connection between "they" and "they". Without it, none of what he says makes any sense. My 8 quotes that he left out directly following his original post, which point out the PS4's superiority from the article and in which I ask him if he read the article, explicitly shows that I didn't think the article was from MS.

I admitted that the "hypocrisy" statement from the very beginning was misplaced. I have thoroughly addressed each and every other point multiple times. The only one doing carthwheels and handstands is him. He continues to avoid and avoid and avoid.

You're digging a hole and trying to place me in it. It isn't working. Again, my quoting the article six times which expressed how Sony had an edge over MS in the hardware department and asking you if you read the article should have made it abundantly apparent that I didn't think that this was some press release from MS.

You're a bull who has seen red, and you're not going to stop until you run into something.

Here's my question about both new consoles: why is a unified RAM pool better? At that point it isn't much better than my laptop - an integrated graphics chip that can steal up to 3 GB of system memory for its own nefarious purposes. Why not split it 4 GB DDR3 and 4 GB GDDR5? Or even 6/2 with the DDR3 in a tri-channel setup?

Did you read the article? Did anyone read the article? For those that didn't, this is pretty much what went down, according to the article.....

Microsoft just now, I am not sure how they missed this, realized that the memory can (supposedly) be written to and read from at the same time, and that by utilizing "holes" in overall processing power, they can tap the memory. These holes basically appear to be gaps/down time in processing, where there are free resources, and instead of sitting idle they can be directed to access the memory.

Which all of this brings up a couple of questions.....

How in the hell did Microsoft miss this "ability" originally? They are the ones designing the system, this seems like something pretty big to have just missed.

Is this this just a PR stunt by Microsoft to counter the claims they are having performance and manufacturing problems with the memory itself?
