I have a wd blue 1tb drive but i'm looking at getting an ssd to use as my primary don't want to wipe my current drive 300 gigs in games so is it possible to put the os on the ssd and remove it from the hdd and maintain the integrity of my other data

I don't believe that would work but I won't say it is impossible. If these are Steam games it would not be that difficult to move Steam to another drive (internal or external) and then move them back once your OS is installed onto a new SSD. Transferring 300 GB to an external would of course take a looooong time.
