From GTX 560 to 7970, no difference in frames per second - Page 3

So I do have them in 2 and 4 DIMMs. Phew haha. Also, when XMP is enabled, will it mean I need to find a stable voltage for my CPU overclock once again, or will it be the same? I have the 3770k at 1.19v and 4.5Ghz

thinking.gif Hmmm.... I recall my Previous GTX 670 running GTA 4 @ 80FPS+ with ice enhancer mod and (others i can't remember).... I never had issues with GTA (performance wise).

Maybe you should try other drivers?

GTA is painful for all of us. Going from a 6870 to a 7950 on a 3770K gave me a 10fps boost maybe. Overclock your processor more, this seems to do the trick for me. Going from 4.2 to 4.6 gave me better minimum fps which improved gameplay a lot. That's the key for GTA. It also has stupid VSync (i don't know if it works that way only on my rig), but 60Hz vsync gives me 55Fps. It's idiotic.

You just described what happens in my rig. 4.5Ghz raises the low end of the frame rate and makes it playable. The vsync is stupid for me too

Played GTA IV with ICE enhancer a lot with my EVGA GTX560 and went to a MSI 7970 and saw a fps drop that game is just so broken still fun to play with mods till GTA V PC.

GTA IV runs better on nvidia hardware from my experience. Saw a good fps increase when I went from my 955 @ 3.8ghz to my 8350 but saw a bigger decline in fps when I went to from a gtx560 @ 940mhz to a 1.2ghz 7970.
