Monitor going into standby on certain games, sound looping and PC staying on? CONFUSED!

Title explains it well, I'm often playing PC games and my monitor will just go into standby mode. I can't get it to reconnect with my PC again unless I restart my PC. The sound just repeats whatever note it was on. I'm told it's something to do with my Graphics card cutting out?

Really don't know why this is happening! D:
Also when I run Minecraft, and just run it alone, it takes up like 1,000,000K of my memory! The fans go into a complete state and I think this may be why it cuts out. I used a friends monitor, and Age Of Empires 3 cut out with his, yet on mine it doesn't?

Really cannot understand this problem, help would be much appreciated!
Not very 'techy' so if you can keep it simple that'd be great! wink.gif

Could be a couple of issues. Try updating your graphics driver, clean out any dust in the fans/vents, replacing the ram, re apply new thermal paste to heatsink, if none of that fixes your issue then you need a new motherboard.

Mk, can do the first 2, don't understand what a heatsink is sorry :S And do you know an average price for a motherboard I'd need?
