3770k cant get past 4.5Ghz

Hi everyone

Im a bit new to these new z77 boards. Mine is a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H and i got an I7 3770k.
My problem is i cant even boot if i go past 4.5GHZ.
The only thing i change is the multipler and Vcore. Are there more to it than that?
4.5GHz works fine at 1.36V but i tried 5GHz at 1.48V and it still wont boot.

I believe some chips can't get 5ghz no matter the voltage. Did you try 4.6 @ 1.4v+? ... you should be trying 4.6 before 5.0.

you just have a bad overclocker. dont expect to hit 5ghz. read some guides, you can find in this forum. it will help you get a little more, maybe 100mhz or so if you tweak other settings, out of your max overclock.

around 1.52V but if you can keep in cool enough. You will find about 1.45V about the max then the heat bunnies probably will kick in
