Zalman Z9+ mesh replacement

I've had my Zalman Z9+ for few months and I'm loving it, definetly bang for buck, but one thing has bothered me from the beginning. The side panel has a big area of mesh which is supposed to act as some sort of ventilation, and It includes mounting holes for two 120mm fans. I won't really need those two fan mounts, because I'll rather use the bottom mounting holes for my 120mm fan. So I am wondering, what is the best way to replace the mesh with something like plexi or some other material. This would be my first time modding, so I will need some really beginner's advice smile.gif

You could always remove the two windows, cut out the entire area inside the bulge (where the windows and vents are, not the entire bulge) and install a large acrylic window there. All you would really need is a dremel, some acrylic, and some c strip. that is just 1 idea though...

Good Idea, but I don't know what c strip is, because I don't speak English natively. Is it some sort of adhesive for fixating the acrylic window?

C strip is a length of rubber shaped in a C shape. It is good to use on the edges of a cut in metal.
This is where to buy it.

Oh and here is a good tutorial of how to mod a side panel to put in a window

I watched the video and the installation seems pretty straightforward, I just cut off the mesh with a dremel, put the c strip, and fixate the acrylic with some double-sided tape. +1 rep for you, great and fast response, and even though I'm new to OCN, I'm really happy to be a part of this awesome community!
