Nvidia GTX power connector location

Thread Starter
I've got a Nvidia gtx 560 ti and have been looking to upgrade to a 770 or a 760, but noticed that the power for newer cards is in a different spot. The 770's I've looked at have the power on the top of the card facing the case window, while my 560 ti has the connectors located at the back, out of the way and unseen. Why have manufacturers changed the layout? and are their any cards where the connectors are in the back?

probably not the correct answer, but having them up top allows a lot smaller case to be used, also it doesnt hit front mounted radiators this way too. biggrin.gif

My build is in a Silverstone Raven rv-02, and my corsair power supply cables, routed behind my motherboard tray, just make it to the connectors, i don't have another 3 inches to play with having the connectors on the top of the card, unless i don't use cable management.
