Trade my g74 for 2600k+gtx590 rig?

I was thinking about building a rig, but I couldn't help but offer my g74sx-bbk8 for this wc'd rig. This thing literally has every part I've ever dreamed about, and I know I can't afford to buy a 590 by itself. Do you guys think its worth it if I trade him my laptop? My lappy's specs are in my sig (g74) and I'll post the link to the rig on craigslist. If do get the rig, I might sell the 590 and get something with a little less power, and then build a less powerful rig for when I'm at my dads house. What do you guys say, trade him? I think the rig is worth WAY more than my laptop personally, but it sounds like he wants to trade! I might even sell the loop as I've never been interested in water cooling.

I would do it, as long as you know how to check everything to make sure it's in working order. Know how to maintain the watercooling setup. Lastly, overclocking beyond 4.0GHz would also make the rig worthwhile. He says it's been clocked to 4.0GHz which really isn't an overclock at all to be honest.

Definitely would sell the 590 for about $300-350 and would grab a 7970. The 590 will be too VRAM starved in today's games to make use of the power. You could even sell the watercooling components as you suggested and drop a decent AIO cooler in there for 4.8-5.0GHz overclocking fun or save the money and grab a simple air cooler like a Thermalright TrueSpirit to sit comfortably @ 4.5GHz.

Either way, I would say it's a good deal. The question is why is he trading his setup for your laptop. Only concern I would have.

Well I'm not sure he wants to anymore but a little bit ago he sounded like he would. I'd say if I somehow got it, I'd sell the 590, sell the loop, maybe even sell the case locally and put everything in my k62 from my last build.

You sure that the VRAM wouldn't be enough? The 590 is a 3gb version.

There is no 3GB version. Each GPU has 1.5GB of VRAM, so you have an actual total of 1.5GB of VRAM they just market it as 3GB.
