Is this a good deal?

My new Samsung T27A950 27" monitor arrived yesterday and I got it for $439.00. I'm not really in need of a monitor but I see this one and it looks really cool and affordable. Furthermore, I saw this same monitor in amazon with the price ranging from $700-$900. I', thinking of making this an external monitor for my laptop or might as well sell this to a friend for a higher price. biggrin.gif

I got it from here:

Here's a review of it in CNET and the price from Amazon:

I don't know if its a good deal for a 1080p monitor, for me I would want a 1440p monitor at 27 inch.

But that would cost me $300-$400 more. I'm testing the monitor so far and I 'm quite satisfied with it. The details remain sharp but yes this could have been better if 2540*1440.

Nah mate, you can get great quality 27" 1440p 120Hz monitors on eBay from Korea for $300 (free shipping), they use Samsung PLS LCD panels in them.

That stand is really bizzare, but functional. I like it. For a 1080p name brand monitor with a factory warranty, I think you did good. But like Remmib pointed out above me, the Korean PLS 1440p monitors on the market are impossible to overlook. Keep in mind the panels are Samsung, the main difference is the bezels are not made well, but for me the bezel is lost cause once you set it up on your desk or VESA mount.

Well I am still learning about the Korean monitors because I still can't find someone that has bough one. I know Samsung is a Korean brand as well but they are already an established brand that's why I got this monitor. I like the design of the stand as well. It looks unique. tongue.gif

You mean someone in real life, that you know personally, who has bought one? Good luck with that. Most average people have no idea about electronics, especially the latest and greatest in monitors...

As far as on these forums, there are hundreds of members who have purchased them with good results, some have gotten unlucky with a defective monitor, but that happens even with the name-brand brands, they have been able to exchange them though.
