PRIME 95 TEST and FAR CRY 3 TOGETHER on fx 8350

Thread Starter
I test my fx 8350 with prime 95 and playing far cry 3 together. and I see while gaming cpu and wmr heat gets hotter. I mean if I just use prime 95 my heat is less . but when I use together my heat gets hotter.
I am saying this because my motherboard has 71 degree limit for tempin2 which is wmr heat. after 71 it throtles down cpu to % 50. I found out that my tmpin2 becomes 71 degrees and board lowers the volt and ghz drops % 50. thats not a cpu heat problem but the vrm or nb heat problem. I can only use 3.6 (downclock) my fx 8350 with 1.32 volts with prime 95 full load + far cry 3 for maximum stress. This is the most stable and my tmpin2 becomes mostly 65 so it wont go over 70 and I dont get any throttling. Should I change board ? or get a cooling solution for my board? Or how can I remove this 71 degree limit ? I tried everything...

If I only do prime 95 test alone is it better ? that way I guess I can go over 4000-42000 mhz. what will you suggest ?

here is my rig:

Fx 8350 @ 4.2 GHZ -- GIGABYTE 970A --Powercolor HD 7950 -- SANDISK EXTREME 120 GB SSD -- 500 GB SEAGATE HD -- 8 GB RAM -- COOLERMASTER HYPER 212 EVO CPU Cooler -- AEROCOOL VS-3 CASE -- 500 WATT XIGMATEK PSU -- VE 2 ARCTIC COOLING + 2 AKASA CASE FANS -- 27" ASUS VE276Q LED MONİTÖR

From what I've heard, it is better because then the CPU is not forced to share its cycles with other programs. So, I also recommend disabling other things like Windows Update, the screensaver and anything else that might do something automatically (such as a messenger where you'd receive a message from someone).

OK now I succeed to get 4.0 ghz with 1.38 volts without going over 70 degrees in tempin2 and 60 degree cpu wink.gif So no throttling. I only added a second fan to cpu cooler. Will that be the success to go from 3.6 ghz to 4.0 ghz and lower temps ?
