I know that Zowie has a LOW LOD. What is it? And how does this affect?
LOD or "lift-off distance" is the distance you have to lift your mouse to stop the sensor's tracking. LOD comes into play whenever you reset your mouse to its initial position on your mouse pad.
Both, high, and low LOD have their advantages, so it comes down to pure preference. IMO low LOD can be more precise though. However, by taping over a portion of the lens/sensor unit you can reduce LOD with optical mice anyway.

I use the same odd grip combination like you. Palm+fingertip. I fingertip my mice for desktop work, and palm it for gaming - trying to adjust to claw right now though.
Both the Abyssus, and Zowie FK are not suited for palm grip. The Abyssus' edges are high lipped and sharp making it very uncomfortable in ones palm. Not to mention it's way too small to rest your palm and the whole length of your fingers on it.
Zowie's FK is also too small to palm it, unless you happen to have really small hands (like 6-7in.). On top of that it is the lowest profile, and slimmest gaming graded mouse ever. I found this chart (at the bottom) on ESR that quite nicely compares many gaming mice with the size of the huge G400. This helps a lot when you don't have access to all those mice in the flesh.
I would throw Logi's G100s in the mix. Its shape, and weight is considered the best for fingertip by many very successful professional Starcraft players - it's also palmable and lends itself to claw grip, very universal shape. Just look up Logitech G1/MX310 in the chart. Logitech hasn't changed weight nor size for years (Pilot,MX300,MX310,G1,G3,G100,G100s).

EDIT: Sorry for the low resolution, OCN won't let me upload higher than 500px, and I can't for the life of me remember or find the thread I found that chart in...
EDIT2: Found it: http://i.imgur.com/mn78Y.jpg
