Dreaded PSU Noise.

Hi all,

Unfortunately this seems to be a widespread problem with Corsair power supplies. I went ahead and bought one for my build, even though I knew about the problem, thinking that the revised V2 version wouldn't have it.

Corsair already sent me a replacement through an express RMA. Really fast and efficient support.

Problem is though, the second unit is also faulty and makes the same rattling/grinding noise whenever I perform a task on the computer - even if it's just a small one. Noise also happens at idle.

Here is the video I sent to Corsair support, as they asked me to upload one.

Still haven't had an answer from them... I was wondering if it's possible to get an upgrade to a unit from another series? As I saw that was the case with several other people who had more than one bad unit.

I am on my second corsair power supply and never had this issue. My first corsair still works,I just upgraded to get more power and went modular. And I broke a few sata connectors one my last psu.

i don't know if this has any relevance, But my experience with any PSU that's 80+ bronze certified has usually given me problems... That being said right now i'm using a Corsair HX1050 80+ Silver, been using it over the last year, and i can't even hear it.

Most of my build is Corsair. Honestly as a rule of thumb.. Don't ever cheap out on a psu. Its the heart of your computer.

That's the thing mate, I thought that by getting the TX750 V2 such issues would have been fixed. Corsair restarted most of their PSU series' with "V2" or "2013 edition" etc.

It cost me 100 EUR and the TX series is in the middle, so I didn't think it would be that bad. Apparently though, even the AX and HX series' are plagued by this noise problem. It's a luck of the draw thing unfortunately.

I hope Corsair will end up giving me an upgrade, as they do for most people. Their customer service has been great so far.
