HD7950 - XFX DD/MSI Twin Frozr

Thread Starter
So I am still in the market for a new GPU. But am feeling the market out and waiting to see how things "settle" in the next few months(and while i save up some more money). I still have my eyes set on an HD7950 currently(but who's to say that won't change if the 8XXX/9XXX cards drop).

Anyway, I am really eyeballing either the MSI Twin Frozr or the XFX DoubleD Cards. I have definitely read a bunch online on both cards. And per reviews, the MSI looks like a solid Choice. However, I haven't seen a whole lot of back things in regards to tghe XFX card either.

I remember reading somewhere that the XFX cards ran real hot, loud, etc. But the hardware reviews out there don't seem to support that.

For those out there that have experience with/own either the XFX DoubleD or MSI Twin Frozr cards, what are your opinions? I mean for real. What do you like/not like about the card? And are there really any issues with the XFX cards? Could it have been a bad batch that XFX got sorted out?

Out of those 2, MSI TFIII, no contest.

My card has very high ASIC (88,9%) so it runs hotter than usual, thats why I reapplied the thermal paste after using it for few weeks (it ran fine with the stock paste tho too.)

Got it running @1150/1500 for 24/7 use and its quiet+stays cool enough (normally below 65C). Could benchmark @1250/1700 on air, very happy with the card.
