[CL] Razer Kraken Pro gaming headset review

Razer products are rarely modest. By offering excellent and sometimes unbelievable features their products always tend to reflect the philosophy of gamers. However, this time they have released a fairly simple plug & play gaming headset and claim it to be the most comfortable headset ever. Weighting only 0.65lbs, the Kraken Pro is optimized for extended usage and its targeted audience is professional gamers who play for several hours without any breaks.

Source: Chiploco

Seems like a mediocre headset in terms of sound but very good in terms of comfort.

True, just 90% of their products aren't worth the money.

Truth to be told, I always hated an inline volume control... It breaks sooner or later and you have no other option than superglueing it or purchasing a new set. I enjoyed my two previous Razer headsets and I will definitely purchase this one in the near future. I would however prefer ear cups to not be made from leather, but you can't have everything, can you...

Shortage in packaging?

Do people on this forum still actually buy headphones like these? I would think by now everyone would have learned that you can buy a set of Sennheisers, Audio Technicha, Beyerdynamic, AKG etc for the same price or less and attain much higher sound quality.

You would think that people would catch on, but it seems that most haven't.

I personally use a pair of AKG K702 65th with a Mod Mic, and love the setup.

You would hope so but I still see many people with crappy headsets like these and others from CM Storm, Mad Catz etc.

Every brand has their good and crappy products. Generally the threshold for decent sound quality is $150 and most people have trouble justifying that much money. Despite the fact that this is a Razer product the Kraken Pro is actually quite well priced.
