Help! Can't reformat my computer!

Thread Starter
Ok heres the problem, I go into the Bios, and enter in for it to boot from the CD Rom for its Primary boot device..

The option to boot from CD Rom comes up. It says Press Any Key to boot from CD Rom.

Heres the kicker.

My Logitech G15 Keyboard (Not sure if that makes a difference) doesn't turn on until AFTER the Press Any Key option is gone. So I can't press any key, since my keyboard is off, and when it turns on, it's already booting up the desktop when I really just want to start up the reformat disc. Any help would be appreciated.

try removing your harddrive and allowing it to count down at the "press any key" screen, since there will be no OS available to boot into, it will "theoreticly" boot into the next bootable device, the CD drive.

after it does that and you are booted in, reattach your harddrive smile.gif

what are you using to format the drive?

If you have no other keyboard then you could try booting from USB, if you can install what you want from USB. I don't think USB has the same prompt.

You are most likely going to need to use another keyboard. I have seen this happen before, and it was the keyboard.

In your bios, there should be a setting that lets you turn on USB enabled keyboards during startup, so you can use then for bios and whatnot.
